Synopsis

The Queen Panther is a fiction set in a fantasy world very similar to our world -
a place where people live, and just like us, make the same mistakes.

The plot mainly takes place in a continent called the Kalongo, inhabited by a multitude of black tribes. Through the prism of three main heroes - Nyangui the woman warrior, Tarass the rich white pirate and Kodjo the hunter - it tells the story about the the uprising of several enslaved tribes who are being sold on the coast by the powerful and prosperous Kingdom of Vangabougou, ruled by King Baba Koawo and his cruel priest Imbumbulu, guardian of a secret order.

The series is a story about the fundamental issues of slavery, which was ultimately never a matter of color in its beginnings, but a phenomenon driven by a mercantilist spirit and the lure of profit.

The Queen Panther is the story about power, struggle and identity.
It’s a story about the fight for freedom.

Exploring the real reasons behind slavery...

"The series is far from a tribunal against anyone. It’s a reflection on the real issues of slavery which was ultimately not a question of color at its beginnings, but a dehumanization of man by man with the aim of getting the greatest benefit from it. And among these dehumanizing men, there were men of all colors, all driven by the same mercantilist spirit and the lure of gain."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

R.Y. TYN

R.Y. TYN likes to describe himself is a Scientist who fell in love with literature. He is a petroleum Engineer and a writer. He was born as Yacoub TRAORE NDAMA, on may 18th 1979, in Koula-Moutou, Gabon. His father was a successful businessman from Chad who settled down in Gabon in the late 50. His mother was a housewife dedicated to raising her kids. Born as the 8th out of 9 children, TYN grew up with African values, based upon respect for elderly and family love. He shared his childhood between the soccer field and school. At age of 10, he had broken his right hand, which forced him to spend the whole summer in a hospital bed. This is where started his love story with books.

He read his first book (“Things fall apart” by Chinua Achebe) at 11. He then went through several African writers like Sembene Ousmane, Camara Laye and so on. At 16, he discovered Maryse Conde from Guadeloupe (French West Indies) with her book Segou. After watching the movie and reading the book by Alex Haley (“Roots”), he decided to be a writer and started writing his father’s family story: His grandfather was born in the XIXth century as a prince in the falling Kingdom of Sikaso (south Mali) during the French colonization. There is so much to say about this man who refused to meet the European’s and who decided to cross Africa from West to East and go to Macca, as many Muslim from Western Africa coast did. He finally settled down during the return trip all the long way from Sudan and Chad, which his grandfather did by the way.

But the writing project stopped when his father (the narrator-memory resource) died and the manuscript never ended up as a book.
Meanwhile, TYN graduated from high school and went to France where he lived for 6 years and got a Master degree in Engineering science. During his last year as student, he wrote and published his first book (“Les aventures du Schountari”, published at Publibook in 2008).
He then started a career in oil and gas and shifted to the Middle East where he worked between Dubai and Oman for a US company. He resigned a few years later and started several projects in his country. He bought a farm not far from Libreville (capital of Gabon) and started agriculture.

Being closed to his people and bringing his experience back home was his main goal. The call of nature was so huge that he gets reconciled with his first vocation and get back to book writing.

Thanks to his career which led him to all continents, he was able to write tales from his native forest area, Arabic desert of Oman to snowy Northern fields of Alaska.

“The Lonely Keva - Book1: The Queen Panther” was published in May 2023 while several manuscript are waiting to be published (volume 2 to volume 10 of “Les aventures du Schountari”, volume 2 to volume 4 of “The Lonely Keva", volume 1 and volume 2 of “The Bastalyn twins”) and several others series. All these books are written in the same universe created by the author who called it The Varnon. It is a planet similar to earth with two moons, circling around a star similar to the sun at a distance allowing life.

A dream of reuniting African descendants

TYN’s life struggle is to reunite African descendants from all over the world. It started during his university years when he met a guy from the West Indies who claimed not being an African descendant just because of the grudge against African he was raised with. Hopefully, he met with other West Indies people who completely assumed their African background.

To reconcile these two worlds, TYN created an imaginary world (the Varnon) and let anyone understand the roots of our pain, which mainly come from our legacy taught by our parents. Violence is a part of human nature, which means that all nations at some point of their stories have been persecuted by someone else much stronger. Blaming the child for the sin of the father is not rational. But hate calls hate and will always keep feeding the grudge and divide the society.

The French enslaved us and colonized many African countries for their wealth. But during his studies in France, TYN discovered wonderful people amongst the French. Hating them for their ancestors’ deeds would be the most unfair thing to do.

So our agenda is to start by reuniting all black people in order to raise our head and heal the still bleeding wounds.
Every African descendant must know that Africa is his home and has to participate to the growing of that continent. Every African American should be free to settle in any African country. The same for all Africans living across the continent.  After being united, we must develop R&D to be able to offer humanity something other than our ground resources. We need to develop universities and research center in areas such as food, health, aerospace.
